Clapton coils first appeared in the self-build vaping community in 2014, when pioneering vape enthusiasts wrapped a standard guitar string with vape wire. Innokin have refined the process to produce their iSub compatible, 0.5 Ohm vertical Clapton coils.

These Clapton style atomizers are compatible with all of the Innokin iSub tanks, including the Innokin Apex and Innokin iSub G. Innokin 0.5 Ohm Clapton coil heads are rated for firing between 30 and 70 Watts.
